Project Development - Recycling Battery Recycling Facility in Singapore and Malaysia
Lead Batteries are among the most recycled item in the world. More than 800 million Lead Batteries are recycled every year by Smelting to produce lead worth more than $14 billion. Batteries play a crucial role in the shift towards sustainable energy production. ACE Recycling has developed an electric powered, emission-free lead-acid battery recycling technology and as such is at the fore-front of the green economy.

Altus Asia Group Pte Ltd has signed an agreement to develop a lead acid battery recycling facility in Singapore, using technology from Ace Recycling Pte Ltd and VerdeEn Chemicals Inc. This facility will be able to recycle up to10,000MT per annum of Used Lead Acid Battery and recover Lead, Metallics, Plastics, Gypsum and water.
Altus Asia Group will own and operate the plant with the help of Ace Recycling with the technology coming from VerdeEn Chemicals. A similar arrangement has also been made in Malaysia to build own and operate a facility in Malaysia.
VerdeEN Chemicals and Ace Recycling have developed an water-based recycling technology to recycled used lead acid batteries in a clean, environmentally sustainable and safe way. This technology is up to 95% more efficient than traditional recycling processes.
SUSTAINABILITY BENEFITS
Diversion of waste from incineration
Waste can be recycled instead of being sent to the incineration plant or sent overseas to be recycled using smelters which are very environmentally pollutive.
Reduction of GHG emission
Water based recycling technology has no emissions and is a much more environmentally sustainable technology than traditional smelting plants which are highly pollutive. This lead acid recycling facility will be able to reduce carbon emission during the recycling and recovery of Used Lead Acid Battery .
Environmental Sustainability
This green technology recycles lead batteries at room temperature. Smelting, by comparison recycles lead at over 1000 degree Celsius by burning carbon fuels. During the process no harmful waste are released into the air but rather Oxygen is being released.
